Mission

To provide a learning environment for students who would benefit from a nontraditional high school setting. Students who are, or may be, at risk of dropping out will be provided an alternative educational setting in which they can succeed in their pursuit of a high school diploma.

The Charter Academy staff works collaboratively with all students, parents, North Country Charter Academy Board of Trustees members, North Country high school principals, superintendents, guidance counselors and other education team members of all sending districts. The above named educational team will also work together to see to it that the North Country Charter Academy students are given the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, emotionally and physically, both today and in the future.

NCCA was established in 2004 through collaborative efforts of North Country Education Services Agency and nine School District Superintendents.

Academics

Upon acceptance into the Academy, student records from the sending school district are reviewed. An academic assessment may be given. From this data, an individual learning plan is established to address credit requirements.

Each center offers students either a morning or afternoon session depending on availability.

Littleton: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Lancaster: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Extended Learning Opportunity Requirement (ELO):

Each student is required to be involved in an Extended Learning Opportunity which may be completed in the form of being enrolled in a vocational class at a local center, be enrolled in an online course outside of the classroom, community service, or work study.
