When we think of those who have been successful in their lives, many things come to mind; they have developed a passion for life, they try to be the best that they can be, they don't let the little things get in their way, and they are not afraid to dream of the impossible. One of the most important attributes to fulfilling your dreams and being a success is to always believe in yourself and to never give up hope. This is not easy given the struggles that many of us face day to day.
The young lady that is receiving this award is a true testament to what can be accomplished if you believe in yourself and are willing to work hard to overcome what might seem to be insurmountable obstacles. We at the Charter Academy knew right from the beginning that this was a special student when the referring school told us they were reluctant to send her due to the fact that she was beloved by everyone in their school community. As soon as she walked through our doors her love of life was evident for everyone to see. She doesn't take herself too seriously and though the academic work was difficult at times, she was determined to see this through and reach her dream of graduating from high school. There is absolutely no doubt that this young lady will make a positive mark in this world and we are all tremendously proud of her accomplishments. The recipient of the North Country Charter Academy Chairperson's Award goes to Brittany Seelye
